Ella Quinlan O'Neill is the ghost that is rumored to haunt this cottage. She is the mother of author Eugene O'Neill. Her spirit is believed to pace in one of the bedrooms upstairs and Eugene, who used to spend his childhood summers here, wrote about the location in "Long Day's Journey Into Night."
