The 5 minute skits are based on real events in history.
My favorites were the headless horseman of Canton and the Hoosac Tunnel scene. The sets are always spectacular. Most of the actors are superb!

The sets are so detailed and the actors are great. It’s good to learn some history behind the things we are afraid of. This is not just a “scare you” show, but a well planned out and well researched show

This show was excellent for those that don't like the blood and gore. The vast history that is included is a nice change and well researched. It is in a class of it's own and unlike any other Halloween event I have ever been to. The theme was Phobias that year but changes each season. Well worth the time and money and all proceeds go toward a great non-profit.

Creepy stories from historical murderers. Some well known, some likely new to you. Starts with H. H. Holmes, known as the "The Devil in the White City" and moves on backwards and forwards in time and around the world. Some murdered for money, some for the thrill, some - who knows! Not a lot of "Boo!" scary or over-the-top gore, but scary real life to make you think.

The dramatic scenes are about famous crimes. The actors are excellent. The sets and lighting are extremely well done. My favorites scenes are Burke and Hare and Lizzie Borden. Don't miss this show.

Going back in time to met some infamous villains.... what a great show and great portrayals! They captured the “madness” of each villain! Only one weekend left to see.

This was a great show and exhibit. The museum does a tremendous amount of work to create some amazing sets to illustrate the ghostly stories.

Great presentation of witches and witchcraft in history and literature. Really well done dioramas, great live actors portraying witch trials and executions. Pretty scary while also educational. I wouldn't take small kids (take them on Saturday 10/14 at 2 for kids tour), but older kids should be fine. A super value for your $10. And it all goes to support this terrific little museum.

Super cool haunted house in a really neat museum. Great effort by the Windham Textile Museum to create a fun, spooky and engaging exhibit that will be a really nice experience for any family. Go check it out on Friday the 13th!!! (Also Sat 10/14)

This is the perfect haunted house because it's scary for those who like scares, but not for those who don't. That might sound contradictory, but here the scares comes from the history,
When you enter, you enter a world of fantasy until the terrifying truth dawns on you....this is reality. That fact is the true horror. At first, it is just a museum tour where history comes to life, literally, including with live actors talking about "Macbeth" with Shakespeare himself and the horror of superstition. It seems innocent enough till you go upstairs.
Upstairs, history comes alive as you watch an actual witch trial from the accusation of the witch to the burning. It is very much like a play.
Then you go in the maze where you see the execution of the witches. You also see prisoners reaching out for you, crying for you to help them. But you can't.
All reality.
You are left with the reality that this happens all the time, still. Suddenly, you realize that you are the one with the choice in life and these true horrors happened not because of monsters under the bed, but because of humans and fear of the unknown.

Like last year, I completely enjoyed the Mill Museum's Nightmare on Main: Witches in 2017. The whole experience is focused on who were really called witches, both in history and literature, especially the women tried and executed as witches in CT. Also as a practicing Pagan, I found the event historically accurate and respectful of my spiritual beliefs. It's not too scary for young children and I plan to go again with my friends who have yet to attend.

Experience the walk-thru and you'll witness unbelievable and gruesome stories of witch frenzy in 17th century New England. You'll set to wondering how Puritan settlers could get so wrapped up in religion-based fear and frenzy over witches, the Devil's handmaidens. Seriously, not for small children. Then cap it off in a fun and creepy turn with the popular witch stereotype, hooked nose, frizzed hair and bad, bad teeth--the whole thing. A grim history lesson with a riotous finale.

Everything you could ever want to know about witches, from ancient times to now, in a pop up witch museum. Some guides are even modern witches, too! Live performers, witch trials, spooky, involving and ends with a fright room! Executions in the parking lot, set ups for selfies, great gift shop. Tour lasts an hour or so and you can use your ticket to return during museum hours for self guided tour.

More creepy than "boo" scary; a thoughtful exploration of the horrors of witch panics when neighbor turned on neighbor and terrible things were done to those accused of being witches!

I loved it. It wasn't like any other scary even/ house/maze. no one really jumped out at you and that made it good for the younger kinds that went. It was very good because of all the informational parts, and how you didn't know if something was alive or dead. It was the best thing that I have ever done and highly recommend others to come see it.

I went last year with my family (husband and two girls 8 and 10) for the haunted house held by The Mill Musuem. The theme was insane asylums. The costumes and all the sets built were done very well, my girls loved them. But what I was most surprise about was we actually learned something about the poor history of treatment in asylums.
Great event, would go again.

The witches around the Mill Museum are very clever.
The place has non-stop fun at the evening events.
Add to that a very cool exhibit and multiple history presentations. The perfect Mix of History and History.
